Employees may be asked to provide employment verification information when applying for a loan, housing, or establishing certain types of insurance. This used to mean calling a personnel office and waiting on hold for hours. Employees can now request this information using a self-service tool called My Biz Employment Verification. The tool is easy to use (via a CAC) and quick turnaround.
If you’re a Department of Defense employee who’s applying for a loan or seeking employment, the chances are good that you will be asked to provide employment verification. It used to be that this required you to call your personnel office, but now it’s easier than ever to provide this information directly through a self-service tool called EV.
The eVerification (EV) tool allows current DOD employees to send employment and salary information to an external organization or person through a secure email connection from the Defense Civilian Personnel Data Systems in a password-protected document. You can access the eVerification tool through your My Biz account or your DCPDS portal.

How to Request Employment Verification From My Biz?
There are many reasons why a DoD civilian may need to provide verification of employment. For example, if you are applying for a loan or a credit card, you may need to prove your income or employment status. In the past, this was done by providing a copy of your Leave and Earnings Statement. But now, you can use the new self-service Employment Verification Tool (EV) to provide employment information to any external organization or person.
EV is an online service that allows current DoD employees to send their employment and salary information via email directly from the Defense Civilian Personnel Data System. The recipient receives the information as a password-protected attachment.
Vanessa Midgett, director of the Civilian Human Resources Agency South Central Region, said this change will save the government money because it eliminates the need to hire people to verify an employee’s employment. She also said the EV service is easy to use and that she hopes it will be widely adopted.
The EV service is accessible through links on the Army Benefits Center for Civilians, Civilian Personnel On-Line, and the Civilian Human Resources Agency websites. You must have a valid Common Access Card to use this tool.

How Do I Access MyBiz+ At Home?
If you need to provide proof of employment to a potential employer, bank, or other organization, you can now do so from home using an online self-service tool called Employment Verification (EV). EV is an online self-service My Biz tool that allows current Department of Defense (DoD) employees to send employment and/or salary information to an external organization or person directly from the DoD civilian personnel system in a secure, password-protected document via email.
To access the EV application, you must use your Common Access Card to log in to MyBiz+ at https://compos.dcpds.mil/mybiz+. Once you have logged in, you can select the “Request Employment Verification” link to submit your request.
Vanessa Midgett, director of the Civilian Personnel Advisory Center for South Central Region, said her staff will still be available to help DoD civilians with employment verification requests, but e-Verification will save them time by eliminating the need for her and her colleagues to call people in other agencies for assistance. The EV tool also makes the process faster and easier for the military because it doesn’t require the employee to make a phone call.
The EV service is the latest addition to the My Biz family of self-service applications that also includes the DCPDS Portal, which can be accessed through a CAC-based system at https://compos.dcpds.mil/mybiz.
