The Distributed Leader Course (DLC) is a six-step online educational program that maps out the road to sergeant. The course is designed to develop the leadership skills of soldiers and is part of the Professional Military Education (PME) program for noncommissioned officers. It will replace the Structured Self-Development course. It will be phased in through 2020.
If you are in the Army, you can enroll in DLC courses on the ALMS. To access the course, you will need a CAC or AKO account. Once you have your account, you can log in to the DLC site. If you have any trouble, contact the official support team for help. You can also check out the troubleshooting section.
A DLC is a multi-part course that soldiers must complete within 24 months of promotion. Each module consists of multiple choices that will lead to varying scenarios. The soldier will receive feedback after each decision they make. The passing score will average out with the soldier’s in-residence PME grade. The DLC course is not required for soldiers who have already completed SSD I.
